No account, and that is the point
XFreeHD has a Download button of its own. Open it and every option — SD, HD, Mobile — points at a sign-up page. That is the gap this page exists to fill: the same file, without the registration.
The two qualities are the site's own
XFreeHD publishes at most two files per video and labels them SD and HD itself. This tool passes those labels straight through. You will not see a menu of resolutions here, because there is no menu of resolutions there — a tool that offers you 1080p for a video that has no 1080p is guessing on your behalf.
Which of the two you want depends mostly on what you will watch it on. HD files measured on this source ran roughly twice the size of the SD file for the same video.
Why this one comes through our server
This is the honest answer to "why is this slower than I expected".
XFreeHD locks each download address to whoever asked for it. An address created here will not open on your device, and an address created on your device cannot be created by this tool. On top of that, its file servers refuse cross-site requests outright, so your browser is not permitted to fetch the file directly even if it had the address.
The consequence: this server fetches the video and passes it through to you. It works, and it is the only thing that works for this source — but it means your download shares a pipe rather than owning one. The other source on this site does not have this problem, and the how it works page draws both routes side by side.
Addresses stop working after a few hours
Roughly three, measured. If a save fails after you have left the page open for a while, fetch the link again and take a fresh one. Nothing is wrong with the video.
