xfree.com is a short-video site — vertical reels, mostly watched on a phone. This page explains what can be saved from it, and what cannot, without dressing either up.

The part that does not work, and why

A pasted xfree.com page address cannot be read by this tool. xfree.com puts a bot check in front of every page, and in front of the interface its app talks to. Checked from two different networks on two continents, on eight different paths: the answer is the same refusal every time, so this is not a temporary glitch or a regional block.

That check is not a puzzle you solve. It is a test of whether the thing asking is a browser. Your browser passes it silently — you have never seen it — while a server does not. This site does not try to look like a browser to get around it. A tool built on beating a bot check breaks without warning every time the check is retuned, usually at the worst moment, and you would find out by losing a download.

The part that works

Once a video is playing in front of you, the address of the actual file is plain and unprotected. That address carries no signature, no expiry and no lock to a particular network — which is unusual, and it is why this half is possible at all.

So the working route uses the page you already have open. Right-click the video while it is playing and choose "Copy video address" — the wording varies a little between browsers. Paste that address into the field above and it works.

The address begins https://cdn.xfree.com/. Because it carries no signature and no lock, the file then downloads straight from the source to your device. Nothing passes through this server, so the speed is whatever your connection can do.

What you end up with

An MP4. The same file the site was serving you, not a re-encode, so nothing is lost in the saving and nothing is added. Reels here are short, so the files are small compared with a full-length video.
